Life Insurance
Caving may not always affect a life insurance application, but there are instances where additional research is necessary.
During your conversation with our advisers, we will inquire:
- What’s your yearly caving frequency?
- Do you prefer caving in a group or alone?
- Is it necessary to rappel into the cave?
- Will you be exploring any underwater caves?
- Will you be doing caving outside the UK?
Obtaining life insurance is typically offered at standard rates if caving is an occasional hobby.
If you engage in regular caving, certain insurers may consider offering life insurance with special terms. This would result in a higher premium due to the caving.
Cave diving is evaluated individually due to its reputation for being a riskier part of caving.
Critical Illness
Critical illness cover for cavers can be arranged at standard terms if caving trips are infrequent.
For individuals who are caving frequently, it is possible that certain insurers may provide a policy that excludes coverage for any serious illness resulting directly from caving.
Income Protection
Income protection for cavers may be available at standard rates depending on the chosen insurer.
There may be exclusions in the policies if you have had injuries in the past. Certain injuries such as broken bones, pulled muscles, or back pain may not be covered by your policy.
